Jeff Carter - Los Angeles Kings: Carter currently leads the Kings in goals and points (32-30=62). His nine game-winning goals currently rank tied for second in the league and are one behind Charlie Simmer (10 in 1980-81) for most in a single season by a King.
Wingers:
Patrick Maroon - Edmonton Oilers: With 27 goals, Maroon has more than doubled his previous career high of 12 goals in a season, reached in 2015-16 with Anaheim/Edmonton. With 42 points, the native of St. Louis, Missouri has also bested his previous best season of 34 points (2014-15). To date, he also has a +15 plus-minus rating, which would eclipse his previous best of +11, reached in 2013-14, during his first full season in Anaheim. In 2016-17, twenty-four of Maroon’s 27 goals and 36 of his 42 points have come at even strength.
Jason Pominville - Minnesota Wild: Pominville leads Minnesota with 29 points (14-15=29) in 36 games vs. Carolina. He tallied his 400th NHL assist Sunday, after playing his 900th NHL game Thursday. The 34-year-old has 46 points (13-33=46) in 75 games this season, including 32 points (8-24=32) in 39 games in 2017 and four points (2-2=4) in the last four games.
Defensemen:
Justin Faulk - Carolina Hurricanes: With his 30th career power play goal on Sunday, Faulk tied Tuomu Ruutu for ninth on Carolina’s all-time list since relocation. In 2015-16 he became the first player in NHL history whose first 12 goals of the season came on the power play. Faulk has three points (1-2=3) in seven matches against the Minnesota Wild.
Jaccob Slavin - Carolina Hurricanes: Slavin has a personal-best 28 helpers in 2016-17 making him the 15th Carolina blueliner to record 25 or more assists in a single season since relocation. Since Feb. 28, Slavin is tied for third with a plus-13 plus/minus rating, and among all league blueliners he is tied for ninth in plus/minus rating (+23) this season. Slavin's first NHL hat trick on March 13 was the first for a Hurricanes defenseman since Joe Corvo did so against Ottawa on March 16, 2008, and he became the youngest defenseman in franchise history to score three goals in a game. His 33 points (5g, 28a) this season mark a new career-high.
Goaltender:
Devan Dubnyk - Minnesota Wild: Dubnyk is 5-2-0 with a 2.75 GAA and a .914 SV% in eight games (seven starts) against the Hurricanes.
